In a surprising move ahead of the final iOS 18
release, Apple has rolled out the iOS 18.1 developer beta, granting developers early access
to its much-anticipated AI features. As previously reported, Apple Intelligence won't be
making its debut alongside the iPhone 16 and iOS 18 but will arrive slightly later.
To get a taste of Apple Intelligence, users can join the waitlist through Settings. Once
enrolled, they'll gain access to select AI features, with wait times reportedly shorter than
a few hours.
The AI capabilities included in this beta are impressive, featuring advanced Writing Tools,
a revamped Siri (though not with its full potential), the ability to generate summaries of
transcripts and other content, new categorization options in Mail, and intelligent email and
text message replies.
